Distance between the points: 500 mm (maximum length of the workpiece).
Motor power: 6 kW, three-phase, operates at 220 V and a frequency of 50 Hz.
Date of production: May 1969.

Increase values ​​in material processing:

– the finest processing (red handle): 0.07 mm\round – 0.035 mm\round – 0.05 mm\round.
– standard processing (orange handle): 0.2 mm\round – 0.1 mm\round – 0.14 mm\round.
– rough machining – heavier shift (green handle): 0.6 mm\round – 0.3 mm\round – 0.4 mm\round.
Transverse feed (for cutting or face processing) twice less than the longitudinal feed at the same adjustment of the levers.

Recommended cutting speed (Vc) for HSS knives:

Aluminium: rough processing 60 to 100 m/min, and fine processing 100 to 200 m/min.
Brass (yellow): rough processing 50 to 70 m/min, fine processing 80 to 120 m/min.
Bronze: rough processing 30 to 50 m/min, and fine processing 50 to 80 m/min.
Mild steel (S235, Č0361): rough processing 25 to 35 m/min, and fine processing 40 to 60 m/min.
Machine steel (C45): rough machining 20 to 25 m/min, and fine machining 30 to 40 m/min.
Gray cast iron: rough processing 15 to 20 m/min, and fine processing 25 to 35 m/min.
Stainless steel (Inox): rough processing 10 to 15 m/min, and fine processing 20 to 30 m/min.
If you use blades with vidia plates (carbide), you can freely multiply these speeds by 3 to 5.

Additional data:

The chuck is mounted via the flange (plateau) directly on the spindle.
Tool carrier: The machine has a system for quick tool change, which particularly increases efficiency.
Carrier: Return spike with Morse taper MT2 or MT3 – standard for this machine.
The spindle standard is Camlock D1-3″ or D1-4″.
Lathe head diameter: 70.6 mm = Camlock D1-3″ or 82.6 mm = Camlock D1-4″.

Purpose: These lathes are known as extremely robust and solid (“monsters” in terms of stability), for mass production and heavy work.
Specificity: Many models of SIM lathes (such as the T series) often did not have a built-in threading mechanism, but were focused on fast and precise material removal (turning).
Construction: The machine is made of cast steel, from one piece, for maximum strength, and the gears are lubricated by an internal hydraulic system.
SIM lathes today are considered quality old machines (“old school” engineering) that, with good maintenance, still provide great precision due to their massiveness.
